APPLAUSE FOR eBAY AND NARCISO RODRIGUEZ

So excited about Narciso Rodriguez's capsule collection for ebay. I hope I have all of my facts correct, but I think this will be the way of the future.  It makes so much sense for a designer to team up with ebay.  They have a huge customer base, and a customer that is willing to go beyond the typical Target or H&M price range, which in my opinion is the death knell for so many other capsule collections.  Can't wait to see this!

Sketches from Narciso Rodriguez's collection for ebay.

Pearl–I love ebay too–once had a bidding war with Phillip Starck over a Colombo chair–where else can that happen?

What a cool idea. That stuff always ends up on ebay anyway so why not start there. I’m curious to see how it goes.

these designs do look great. I particularly love the sketch of the black and red fitted dress. Going directly through ebay IS brilliant….though I still think there is merit in designers providing affordable lines for those who really just can’t afford to spend so much money on clothes.

This sounds very intriguing and exciting. I wonder if you have to bid (cue a huge bidding war and some angry ebayers) or it will be a more civilised affair (Buy it Now). Either way I will definitely be taking a closer look. Thanks for sharing this Judy.

What an innovative idea for a collection! I’ll be sure to take a look at them, although I doubt I would ever be able to afford the clothes..
I really like the style of his sketches, liking to draw myself means I am always interested in other’s styles.

    Thanks for posting the info!
However, I must say – ebay seems like as much (if not more so) of a “capsule collection killer” to me as big box retail.
Or maybe I just don’t know my way around ebay well enough.
Very curious to see how this goes down.
Things are changing in this consumerist world of ours.

    Annemarie,
Regarding your comment “”a customer that is willing to go beyond the typical Target or H&M price range”– only you would consider that a virtue.”
I find your comment to be extremely rude and offensive. There are millions of people in this world who are not price challenged. If you are price challenged, then don’t buy anything from this collection. But, that does not give you the right to insult or judge someone who is willing and able to pay more than you can.
It is especially rude to insult someone in what is essentially their “online home.”
Although I can’t afford much of what I see on this blog, I still find inspiration in every single post. Perhaps you should spend a little more energy on looking for the good in life. Then, perhaps some of your bitterness and jealousy will subside.
