Every woman wants to be a bad ass in films these days–but the original bad ass is no doubt–Sigourney Weaver—I love her….images to follow………

Love this photo..

The Alien series scared me to death…I'm not sure I've finished one completely.

Go Sigourney…..

I loved her in Galaxy Quest….

Truly–the original bad ass…

showing her soft side…

Sigourney Weaver is so beautiful–and somehow I always felt she was underrated as an actress.  I thought she was immensely talented in every single role I have ever seen her in–the girls and I loved Holes–was she the sheriff?  I can't remember—but she was hilarious!!   I loved her in Ghostbusters too…..

OMG, my husband and I were JUST TONIGHT talking about how badass she is. Probably because of the SNL thing, but we caught all three Alien movies a couple of weeks ago and stayed up all night watching them. We were so blown away by her again. She is so hot! Power is sexxxy! And she’s still gorgeous!
    Great post.

And, just to add…Sigourney in “The Year Of Living Dangerously” (pre-Mel Gibson bad boy days). Stunning actress, lush movie and haunting soundtrack.

To be tall…what a glorious thing!

  • Alex January 17, 2010 at 7:02 AM

She has such a commanding presence. Her role in the Alien movies has got to bed in the top 5 badass roles for women of all time! And I love how she played it in Galaxy Quest too – “I have ONE job to do on this ship…”!

  • Ivy Lane January 17, 2010 at 8:06 AM

  • sioux January 17, 2010 at 10:44 AM

Beautiful woman’s fashion icon quote, she is very talented in her work but also very involved in social work, dealing with many of the most unfortunate and poor … I do not know if all the big Hollywood stars are as generous and humane

  • modgirl January 17, 2010 at 10:54 AM

I’ve always loved her as an actress, too. Aliens is hands down an all-time favorite! (But, I can’t watch them alone.) Great pictures. She proves that a woman can be beautiful and sexy and soft and classy and everything in between… all at once.

  • The Photodiarist January 17, 2010 at 5:44 PM

  • Penelope January 18, 2010 at 4:30 AM

And a badass in real life…the basketball shot she landed in Alien III (I think?!) was straight through on the first take! The behind-the-scenes footage is crazy – it’s on youtube. She said it was one of the best moments of her life :D

  • Modediktat January 18, 2010 at 8:55 AM

i love sigourney weaver. she came to my attention first with ghostbusters (did you know part 3 is announced?) – and next as katharine parker in working girl which is one of my favorite films ever.
so whenever i hear coco chanel’s quote “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman” i have to think of sigourney first instead of cc – since she was using it in the film and i watched it first when i was 13 :)
half moon street was also very cool and i liked her in the ice storm.

  • koko January 18, 2010 at 9:25 AM

I love Sigourney Weaver, especially in the Aliens series. Jodie Foster is another one, they both have those deep, calming voices.

  • MªÁngeles S.T. January 18, 2010 at 1:05 PM

She is the best, really cool pics.

  • Andrew J January 18, 2010 at 1:41 PM

Most definitely! I have to admit, my inner “nerd” REALLY came out when I was sitting in Avatar and she came out of that pod at the beginning of the film ha. I was like “I haven’t seen her come out of one of those since Alien!!!” :)

  • dreamsequins January 18, 2010 at 2:12 PM

She has a unique look and I love that she doesn’t look all plasticked out like other celebs in her age group! In other words, she’s aged with grace and she looks amazing.

  • Faux Fuchsia January 19, 2010 at 3:23 AM

Sigourney looked divine at the Golden Globes. She looks amazing for 60.

  • Olympus Digital Cameras January 19, 2010 at 4:59 AM

Sigourney is just a sight for sore eyes, she is just lovely.

  • Accounting Jobs January 19, 2010 at 6:20 AM

She is really pretty and sexy even up to now in her latest Movie Avatar.

  • lady jicky January 19, 2010 at 2:41 PM

Yes she is a under rated actor and why I do not know for she can do drama or comedy with no problems!

  • Nicole January 19, 2010 at 7:11 PM

Omg I love Holes!! Have you read the book? It is so much better than the movie. Sigourney played the Warden in Holes.

  • alex*strawberry lemonade girl January 19, 2010 at 8:12 PM

She is amazing….what a great post (that first photo is a stunner!!).
I love all her films, but I was giggling to myself that you put Galaxy Quest on here—i LOVE that movie! I never saw it in the theater but caught it on HBO or something many years ago and thought it was the funniest ever (and I loved that she was in it).
I love her in Working Girl, from back in the 80s. She was amazing in that too!

  • Raised Garden Beds January 20, 2010 at 3:54 AM

She has really gone far in terms of acting because she has become very versatile in all the roles that she plays.

You are so beautiful even if you are old now, still your beauty will never fade.

  • Jessi January 21, 2010 at 10:40 AM

Have you ever seen heartbreakers? Came out about ten years ago when I was in high school. It’s quite cheesy, but I absolutely love it.

  • Make Do Style January 23, 2010 at 3:41 AM

She is gorgeous and a very savvy woman in Hollywood. Also she has in the main avoided the cliche of plastic surgery by being in charge of her own destiny.

When William Herschel constructed his catalog of deep sky objects, he used the name spiral nebula for certain objects such as M31. These would later be recognized as immense conglomerations of stars, when the true distance to these objects began to be appreciated, and they would be termed island universes. However, the word Universe was understood to mean the entirety of existence, so this expression fell into disuse and the objects instead became known as galaxies

this film or that they say has excellent effects, but I feel it is poor plot, I think that is not centralized to a large segment of the population since the genre faltancia / fiction not please everyone, but I congratulate you for that excellent production.
