Christopher Kane
I fell for this Christopher Kane dress the minute I saw the runway photos…This dress is really art.
Growing up in the 70's, Planet of the Apes was absolutely my favorite series of movies. (I loved Tim Burton's re-make as well) I like the insanity of using this series as inspiration for an entire collection. Christopher Kane also has a thing for plastic dinosaurs, (like me) and designed Stegosaurus shoes to go with this collection. I find this all so intriguing. I had to have a piece from SS/09.
Love this too…Style.com
I definitely got a few looks, but most everyone really loved the dress.

I wore vintage jeans a,d YSL cage boots.
Celebrated the end of the school year with Jane, Carol and their cousin Sidney…
Jane picked up this great dress in NY.
Carol and Sidney at La Duni.

It was so nice seeing you and the family yesterday.
You look amazing in this Christopher Kane dress. I had mentioned this to Jane that only women with strong personality can pull off this dress and you’re rocking it!!!!

Love the Kane dresses but especially love the shot of Carol in the striped dress!
Years ago, my dentist in NYC had a really extensive plastic dinosaur collection in his office. He was really cute and I’d let him do all this unnecessary dental work, just to keep seeing him (and, I suspect, visa versa). I asked him why he collected dinosaurs and apparently it was a misunderstanding: a patient/fan gave him one as a present, and people assumed he collected dinosaurs..
Judy! I love that dress so much! I saw it on Jak & Jill blog some time ago and has been obsessing over it. It looks really good on you. You’ve got yourself some amazing collectible piece there!

that dress is fabulously futuristic. such a striking piece.
I already sent Jane an e-mail about how well you are pulling off that gorilla dress. Seriously…you look amazing in it and I wish my mom was half as cool.
such a great piece to pick out of his whole collection. I’m in awe of his scalloped/transparent dresses as well but your dress is definitely taking the cake.
That dress is amazing, I’m smitten by all the monkey stuff he did. You and Jane look fabulous as always.
surreal, crazy .. absolutely beautiful!
I love the three dimensional quality of the ape face.
This is a fun and timeless collector piece. Someone on Jane’s blog thought that the dress may look too “dated” after this season. But who cares, this is not a trend.
You will have a ton of fun with it.
I am SOOOOOOOOOO envious of you!!!!!!!
Alas, I have the budget of an artist/yoga teacher.
i envy your dress, really.. the dress is genius!!

and it looks good on you, really..
you always manage to look elegant-incredibly stylish-yet-simple at the same time..
only you can pull off such look.. adore it
and i love the way you adore all your girls, they are beautiful, just like you..
p.s. those ysl shoes are just LOVE LOVE LOVE! one of the best thing ever created in the world i guess

Roooaah.. I don´t know the noise of a Gorilla
Like Amee said in her previous comment, it´s genius and insane at the same time!
And the Cage Heels…AMAZING!!!
Happy sunny weekend to you and your family!
I am sooooo jealous! That dress is beyond amazing!
Hi judy!
I have a question for you:
Is there any piece in your closet, that not even Jane is allowed to borrow?
Cool, I love Christopher Kane’s dresses as well! I love those prints and style at all – reminds me of Beatric Boyle style.
Wishing you all a fabulous weekend!
xoxo, s.
Judy,
You should put a link to Plain Objects (it is plain objects right?) on the sidebar. Obviously I’m always forgetting the name and run thru older posts to find it. Just a thought.
Jill
I love the cage heels with that dress— perhaps it explains why the ape is screaming.. wants to get out! haha. stunnning as always
