I was recently inspired by this picture from J. Crew to get out some of my vintage pins for the site.
Jane and I did a little photo shoot.

pretty! and now you have inspired me to find all my old pins and wear them in one big statement-making cluster!
There is a reason why stylist are good at their job. The mixture and contrast of texture and style make the J Crew jacket collage not only interesting but also fresh and amusing.
WOW, the third-to-last picture, jewel encrusted… it always gets me. I love your blog too, the food posts are so much fun. Glad to see more people blogging who love both food and fashion.
That parrot is to die for!

Gorgeous! From what decade/s are they?
Vintage brooches are such a fun way to accessorize! Wear them as belt buckles, on you handbag (either where the stray connects to the body of the bag or over the hidden magnetic clasp on an envelope style clutch), in your hair (secure with bobby pins), on your scarf, or just the traditional way, on your lapel. It adds a nice detail, and a bit of color and femininity to any outfit.
I still think of this January ’10 Vogue spread… it totally inspired me to start collecting brooches!
