WHOLE WHEAT BISCUITS AGAIN
Surprisingly, my most popular post of all time is Whole Wheat Biscuits. Who knew?
I’m featuring the recipe again, and adding a couple of great ways to serve them. See above photo of individual biscuit cobblers made by Carol. These are amazingly delicious!
INDIVIDUAL BISCUIT COBBLERS
4 Whole Wheat Biscuits (1 biscuit per ramekin)
Berry Filling (recipe here )
Medium size ramekins
Make the berry filling from above recipe and put into baking dish.
Bake on 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Break biscuits into pieces, and fill ramekins alternating biscuits and hot berry filling. Put ramekins on a rimmed cookie sheet and return to oven for 5 minutes. Let cool slightly, and top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. (serves 4)
When the biscuits were fresh out of the oven, Carol whipped up some orange cream cheese.
ORANGE CREAM CHEESE (adapted from Ina Garten)
6 0unces cream cheese room temperature
3 tablespoons sugar
1 heaping tablespoon of orange zest
Whip all ingredients until incorporated on medium speed. Spread onto hot biscuits!
Somehow, the orange cream cheese is the perfect counterpart to whole wheat biscuits.
I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!!
