Adding and Taking Away for my Renovation Project
I mentioned in an earlier post that I would be changing my downstairs. Christmas is finally over and it's time to get to work. First of all, I purchased these antique french barrel chairs at a consignment store in Dallas, and recently had them recovered in burlap–I think they turned out well.

I love the burlap–and I think I will be adding more beiges and greys to my almost all white interior. Next, my bed. I cannot decide if I need a new one or not–by new one, I mean new old one. I don't like new beds at all. I've always wanted a four poster bed. Anyway, here is a photo of it all rumpled.

But…what if it looked more like this? Much better.

How about this for little inspiration? This is Darryl Carter's work. I just love him. I've been saving up photos of his work, and will post them soon. judy

Those chairs are gorgeous–just right for curling up to read a book.
I absolutely adore those chairs. You have amazing taste!
oh my goodness, darryl carter is so brilliant. please post more of his work soon! i’m really looking forward to it.
i love what you’ve done with the barrel chairs
I absolutely love how you’ve designed your home ! It looks so cosy and comfortable. Definitely a house where you want to spend your whole days ! I think your bed looks great! The touch of black keeps your bedroom from being an all white room !Plus I just wonder what your bathroom looks like. Maybe you could show us a picture?
Anyway, I really love your blog, your home and your style.
Really looking to seeing more posts soon !
Happy new year to you and your whole family !
Just recently, I too have been inspired by home decor and photos of beautiful rooms. Check out theselby.com — it’s a blog of a photographer who visits people’s houses in NY & LA and just takes photos … really interesting!
I absolutely love your current bed! I’m looking for something similar…old, metal, airy. Do you have any suggestions on where to look? I live in Austin, by the way.
love your new chairs!
i really love your taste in interiors most especially furniture. i love how you mix contemporary with vintage as well… my family has a furniture manufacturing business which my mom runs full-time.the pieces are predominantly classical and we do some vintage finishes as well. i wish though that we did more contemporary pieces but most of our clients make us do the classics:) the stuff at home are so chippendale and everything old haha. it would be nice to see something modern—that is definitely how i’m doing my new bedroom haha… if you want to view the stuff that we make, visit http://casacebuana.com/
It is so beautiful I have never seen something like that before.
