80′s animal belts
I started collecting 80's animal belts some time ago. (I didn't have the means to afford any really nice belts in the 80's, so I decided now was my chance) I really became obsessed when the Sex and the City movie came out last summer and I saw Carrie's great elephant belt. It was actually pictured in the book, not sure if the belt made the movie–Carrie was too fixated on the Roger belt, which was also unbelievable, and I completely adore Patricia Field's styling–back to the animal belts. I photographed my collection today–it has become quite large, but I'm still avidly searching for more.
Here is a group of them around my dress form…

This is a Christopher Ross lion belt–one of my first great finds..

This another Christopher Ross piece–a dragon. This is possibly my favorite, the details are amazing.

Another Christopher Ross…the unicorn.

Laloon was another designer of great 80's belts–I have managed to find a few of these. Below is the elephant—I like this one better than Carrie's.

I have also been lucky enough to find two of the Laloon tigers, and the lion.

I'll show these soon with outfits…so long for now.

My husband recently visited Dallas and was immediately drawn to it…your home must be somewhat of a reflection of why he was drawn to it: charm.

Quand on sait qu’une ceinture coute 500 dollar min !!! cela me laisse dubitative…
While visiting a buffalo exchange in Hollywood this weekend I spotted a beautiful dragon belt buckle in the designer case I knew it was a Christopher Ross piece (thanks to your blog!)I asked to see it and sure enough it was signed and dated. It turns out it was your favorite the dragon buckle. I was in awe after reading your blog about these buckles as I am a collector of all sorts. Oh and it was only $15! what a steal
Do people realize we are all animals or is there a documented belief
that humans are not animals?
According a web log, a recent televsion program on the Travel Channel
ranked the 10 smartest animals (in order of increasing intelligence):
“squirrel, squid, raven, dog, pig, parrot, elephant, monkey, dolphin,
ape”
What are some general facts about sea animals? It is for a 1st grade report and she needs some ideas. Thanks.
