SOMEWHERE IN TIME
While in Tokyo this last trip, I was very inspired by their love of Victorian era clothing. There is always lots of crisp linen, lace, puffy sleeves, and menswear inspired jackets and trousers.
I picked out this Comme des Garcons jacket with tails, leather suspenders, and a tie front linen blouse from 55 Hotel Boutique. Also worn with my oldest pair of 501's, and old Prada boots.
Probably time for these jeans to retire—-they're so soft. I'm only into my 501's right now, and one other pair of old Levis that I have. I'm so tired of all the new jeans….

I like this a lot. I too like the whole ruffly white Victorian era look too. Great blouse and also great jacket too.
As always, thanks for the outfit post. I love everything about it. But, Judy, what say you about the watch? I don’t think we’ve ever seen you without that silver one (can’t remember the name of it). I love a leather wrist band, but haven’t done one in years. Details, please.
It took me forever to put it together – I used to wear your clothes over and over, having a white Victorian fetish, mixed up with a touch of Comme des Garcons too. Miss those days …
Amazing jacket i love the details that are so profuse in you outfit it’s so amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

i love how the jacket is pieced together. it seems like a comme des garcons trademark.
great, old levis…i’m always searching but they are sooo hard to find!
Just curious, do you hem/sew the bottom of your jeans, even though they’re cut, or just cut them and leave it at that?
The details are great!!
Susan–on this pair, I just left the hem raw.
I love this so much from the jacket to the shoes!

I really admire the way you make Victorian look fresh and edgy, and comfortable, too! Unadulterated it can make the wearer look like a stage-extra from “Oliver Twist”. I found a vintage shop in FLorence that sells clothes actually from the 18th and 19th centuries–amazing but very delicate.
I love your watch! My dad has the same one i think-the cartier santos?
It would be so amazing if you did an outfit post every day! You are such an inspiration and I love your style!!

Your blog picture, I like it very much, so have a pure heart, the children stood in the bustling fidgety city.
