CHECKING IN

Hi Everyone!  I have no excuse for my blogging absence, other than I was having some blogging paralysis.  Every time I would sit down to blog, I was overcome with anxiety.  I think it had to do with Carol heading back to the UK, but I finally heard from her, so no more excuses, and I have been having a great time on Instagram.

Carol went camping her first week back with her classmates, and learned to make a wood burning oven from clay they scooped from the river.  Her dad and I kind of laugh about this, thinking this is one expensive oven if you think of all the tuition the parents have shelled out, but we’re very grateful she is having this experience, and I know she is having a great time.

I decided to try some new Fall pieces with this fabulous cool front that we’re having.  These boots are my new favorite shoes!  They are from Madewell.  The bag is a favorite too–Jane and I met up with the Meredith Wendell team a couple of months ago, and Meredith brought me this bag.  I had wanted it over Christmas, but it sold out–I love the big suede patch.

I’ll be in better touch this week!

Sheeeezzz… Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’ve had a very active summer, and downtime should definitely be in order. And that includes time off from blogging. I’ve been terribly remiss with my own site, but it’s not because of too many distractions–family and otherwise. For me it’s a big bad case of summer doldrums. The blahs.

Take advantage of this current quiet time, because starting September there’s a slow escalating buildup of social craziness that sucks everyone in–whether they want to be involved or not–and spits them out at the year end holidays. I can’t wait till January. Slow peaceful January.

I totally know what you mean. I’ve been paralyzed for practically the whole year . . . sometimes you need to take a break from things you do routinely. It gives you a fresher perspective, you know? Any way, glad you are back (and glad I am back too!)
